چکیده
We give an expository account of a Weierstrass type representation of the non-zero constant mean curvature surfaces in space and discuss the meaning of the representation from the point of view of partial differential equations.

Hyperbolic surfaces of $L_1$-2-type
In this paper, we show that an $L_1$-2-type surface in the three-dimensional hyperbolic space $H^3subset R^4_1$ either is an open piece of a standard Riemannian product $ H^1(-sqrt{1+r^2})times S^{1}(r)$, or it has non constant mean curvature, non constant Gaussian curvature, and non constant principal curvatures.

Over the last decades it has been widely recognized that many completely integrable PDE’s from mathematical physics arise naturally in geometry. Their integrable character in the geometric context – usually associated with the presence of a Lax pair and a spectral deformation – is nothing but the flatness condition of a naturally occurring connection. Examples of interest to geometers generally...
متن کاملDoubling constant mean curvature tori in S 3
The Clifford tori in S3 constitute a one-parameter family of flat, twodimensional, constant mean curvature (CMC) submanifolds. This paper demonstrates that new, topologically non-trivial CMC surfaces resembling a pair of neighbouring Clifford tori connected at a sub-lattice consisting of at least two points by small catenoidal bridges can be constructed by perturbative PDE methods. That is, one...

متن کاملOn the Geometry of Constant Mean Curvature One Surfaces in Hyperbolic Space
We give a geometric classification of regular ends with constant mean curvature 1 and finite total curvature, embedded in hyperbolic space. We prove that each such end is either asymptotic to a catenoid cousin or asymptotic to a horosphere. We also study symmetry properties of constant mean curvature 1 surfaces in hyperbolic space associated to minimal surfaces in Euclidean space. We describe t...
